Liberty Retrievers was established in 2015 as a partnership between Bill McKnight and Christina Anderson. We are home based in Ronan, MT, and travel to warmer weather to train through the winter - except for 2017/2018 - will be staying in Ronan with the puppies.
After a thirty year career in the US Air Force, Bill was able to devote his time and efforts to his beloved Labrador Retrievers. From his first Lab in 1995 to his current young male, Bill has earned more than 200 all age points and 200 derby points in AKC Field Trials while titling four dogs. He has competed in more than 20 nationals in North America and won the Canadian National Amateur in 2008. Bill has bred, trained, and handled three generations of titled yellow bitches - AFC Bam's Liberty Belle MH (Libby); FC-AFC-CNAFC-CFC Moonstones Hug and Moochie (HaM), and AFC Moonstones HaM-Maid Marion (Livvy). In Bill's best year he and his dogs earned 16 blue ribbons, even receiving 16.5 points at one weekend trial. He is also an eight point judge.
Chris is retired from military service with six years in the Army and 18 years in the Navy. After many years in the tropics, Chris's first dog, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Nemo, led her back to Oklahoma in 2007 and a start in retriever games. Since then, Chris has added three more Chesapeakes to her family and gained experience in hunt tests and field trials.
Committed to producing healthy and happy, intelligent and biddable canine partners.
